More fun candles keeping the beta fish company

Always hoping kids will find my door on Halloween

Fall, where are you??

Is is just me or is anyone else O.V.E.R this HOT weather we are having here in southern California! Now that it is "officially" fall, I am "officially" over the +85 degree weather! I am so ready for Fall...

I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks yesterday and it "tasted" like fall, now only if the weather would change!

Too bad it never looks like this in sunny southern California...I can dream right!

I am ready to decorate pumpkins

Yep...I can't wait! My favorite time of year!
So ready for boots with cozy socks!
and warm cozy blankets
Pumpkin patches!!

Yes I am ready for a change in seasons, I am ready to bake, eat pumpkin everything, drink hot drinks, snuggle under a warm blanket, put slippers on my feet, light a fire....I am ready for Fall and I am patiently waiting!

Until fall arrives...

Banana Bread

Usually thursday is bowling night however last weekend I broke my toe in a slip n slide accident. So now I have some extra time...and this week I had some overly ripe banana's since matt doesnt eat many fruits and I like my banana's green or not at all. My friend lexi gave me this recipe and this was my first attempt ( her's tastes amazing so I hope my turns out just as good)

Recipe
1 cup butter, 2 cups sugar beat together. add 4 eggs 1/4 tsp salt, 2 tsp baking soda, 4 cups flour mix in 6 large ripe bananas and a cup of walnuts. a shake of cinnamon and bake 2 hrs at 250

Amazing kitchen aid mixer...really makes baking fun!

Last year my friend karyn bought me these cute cupcake measuring spoons I use them everytime I bake

loafs are in the oven...I never make breads or anything in a loaf so I don't have two same size pans :)

fresh from the oven...and you will just have to trust me smells amazing...

Recipe was easy to follow and not to many ingredients...hopefully it tastes as good as it looks.

Thanks Lexi for sharing your recipe with me!

New Resturant - The Boiling Crab

My hubby and I love trying new places and it always more fun to take some friends along. A few weekends ago we tried a new spot reccomended by one of his co workers. The Boiling Crab its located in costa mesa so its kind of a drive from Mission Viejo but we will try anything once.

Bibs are optional however its a very hands on no silverware dinner so I wore a bib
Basically you chose your seafood shrimp, crawfish, crabs legs  pick your seasoning and then this baggie comes to your table and dinner is ready to eat
I said it was a hands on meal and it really is our friend Sam had a great time with his crabs legs
They also serve fries and season them to your taste....medium was good the boys ordered hot and unless you have no tastebuds or just like to sweat stick to medium

Overall the resturant is fun and reasonable priced its very casual and not something for a date night because you wouldn't want to wear your nice clothes. But if you are in the mood for some spicy seafood it is worth the drive, its often crowded so expect to wait but its totally worth the wait and beers are only 2 bucks!

I love birthdays!

Today was my friend Yvonne's birthday...and at work we really like to make a big deal about birthdays..however I always miss Yvonne's birthday. This year I was not going to miss it and in fact I had some making up to do.  Fiesta was the choosen theme and we really went all out....

Jessica and I made her a cake from her fav soda!

Yvonne's Desk with her bday banner and treats and its a little hard to see but Darla made these super cute goodie bags!
Lexi made this amazing sugar cookies...they turned out super cute!

It was a super fun day breakfast burritos handmade by Mine (with a little help from del taco) mexican sweet bread ( thanks to Iggy) a corn treat homemade by Karyn (even though she missed the party) and for lunch Yvonne's favorite bean burrito spot. And lets not forget those super cute sugar cookies were an all day treat!

Happy Birthday Yvonne it was fun celebrating today!
We even got a special afternoon treat of a power outage that sent us home early!

Time to start planning the next birthday!
