I am loving Washi tape, are you?!? I want, no I think I may need this tape dispenser and tape from
cu-te-ta-pe Oh the simple things in life that make me happy. I think I may have an addiction and if someone feels the need to buy me a gift please buy me the tape dispenser.....hint hint to my hubby!

Christmas Card Book

I LOVE Christmas cards, I love getting them in the mail throughout December. I love seeing how families have grown and how big all the children are getting of the people I know. I love the thoughtfulness of others to send you warm holiday wishes for the season. A few months back I saw on Pinterest all the great ideas of what to do with your Christmas cards when the season is over. So I dug out all my Christmas cards back to 2006 and organized them and put them together by year in their own albums and had them on display in a Christmas basket throughout this season. It was fun looking back at all the cards we have received over the last 6 years, and what good were they doing in the abyss of a drawer all these years! So as this season came to a close and the Christmas decorations came down a few days ago, I finished up our 2011 Christmas Card album before I stored them away in the decorations box until I pull them out again next holiday season. 



Just 2 hold punches and 2 ring binders...simple and easy

Dear Daughter (or Son) Diary

I just read this post from How Does She blog about starting a "Dear Daughter Diary" (you can also do one for your son, niece nephew, grandchildren too). I think this is such a great meaningful idea. It's a diary that you and your child share and write in to each other and leave it on each other's pillows after you write in it. How great would this be as a way to let them write their thoughts down and a way to express themselves through words and a way for you as a mom to see into their lives things they might not have shared with you. In her diary she asks them open ended questions and you and them can write about anything you want. Taelor is almost 5 and soon will be able to learn to read and write and I this is one thing that I will definitely start when she does.

I loved her quote at the end of her post "There is NO WAY to be a perfect mother, but there are MILLIONS of ways to be a GREAT one!” I must remember this everyday!!

Getting Ready for Christmas

I am so ready for the Holidays! Remember a few posts ago when I mentioned I wanted to buy the Christmas Journal from the Creative Place, well this weekend I really wanted to order it, but then I looked over to my stack of paper and saw a whole stack of Christmas cardstock. Yes I know it would be easier to just order it, but I figured we are still in October (for a few more days) and if I start now on making my own journal I will have it ready to go for December. I have a lot more to do to it, but hey it's a start. Last year I started a tradition from a blog I read about doing a December Daily. Starting December 1st we do something that pertains to the holiday season and I take pictures and journal about the craft or memory. It can be anything from a visit with Santa to watching a Christmas movie to making handmade ornaments. We had a lot of fun doing this last year and it made the season so fun and entertaining and I am looking forward to all the fun things we will do this year! Along with this I am going to make this Advent Calendar (or something similiar), I will coordinate the calendar with what we will be doing that day. What are some fun things you do during the month of Christmas?

Journals

I love getting my weekly emails from The Creative Place, she is great at journaling and always has simple, yet meaningful crafts and ideas. This week she featured her Autumn Journal and I love it! Keeping a journal with simple pictures is such a great way to capture sweet memories, especially if you have a little DIY album that you can customize to how simple or extravagant you would like. I am going to start doing this. I am also excited because today's post was that she was working on her Christmas Journals, these would be perfect for my December Daily by Ali Edwards that I will do again this year (that will be a whole other post and comes to find out that Ashley over at The Creative Place does these too). The best part is that she sells these journals on her Etsy shop, so if you're not so crafty or feeling like you have time (because who really does around this season) you can buy one.
