Baked Oatmeal Muffins

I found this recipe on Pinterest and thought I would try it out this past weekend. They turned out good and they are really healthy for you with only around 50 calories for each one, with no added sugar, or dairy and the best part is they only have a few ingredients and they are great for snacks too.

Baked Oatmeal Muffins

Ingredients:
1 1/2 Cups of oats
3 very ripe bananas (mashed up)
1 Cup of unsweetened applesauce
handful of dried cranberries (or anything else you prefer)

Mix all ingredients together, once mixed, fill a muffin tin with the mixture (make sure to spray the tin with non stick spray) or you can just drop spoonfuls onto a baking sheet
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 min
Makes 12 muffins

They are a bit sticky when they first come out but they tasted great. They were all gone that same day! Next time I would add a little bit of agave nectar, vanilla and maybe some walnuts, but the possibilities are endless, you can add anything you want to them.

Happy Baking...
Until next time...

Hobby Lobby is coming to the OC

I can't even begin to tell you how excited we are that Hobby Lobby is opening their first Orange County store right here in Laguna Niguel. It is taking over the old Mervyn's location off of Alicia (in the same shopping center as Tilly's) and it is going to be 80,000 sq ft of pure crafting, home decor bliss! I can't even hold my excitement, and I have never even been to one, but my sister lives by the Rancho Cucamonga one and says it's A.M.A.Z.I.N.G and all my Mid West girlfriends think I am just crazy getting so excited about this (even though they say it is great too)!! I mean it has to be great, I follow so many blogs that talk about Hobby Lobby and I have been wondering what this place is all about! Well on May 11th I will be find out and I know if you live in the OC area too you are jumping for joy as well!!

Happy Crafting...

Until next time...

St. Patrick's Day Fun

St. Patrick's Day was a fun filled day with lot's of green all around. The kids were SO excited to see if the "little green guys" came by to visit our house, and yes of course they did! They left a few surprises, green milk with Lucky Charms, green rice crispy treats, green marshmallows (yes I let them have a few for breakfast, SO not like me) green jello, and after all that they must have had to tinkle cause there was green pee in our toilet.....except my little guy was half asleep when he woke up that he didn't even notice the dark green water until he was just about to flush it! We had a little St. Patrick's Day breakfast with our good friends, with green waffles, green eggs and ham, and more green treats. Yes they were all hyped up on sugar and who knows what the food coloring has in it! It was a great day and it ended with a little bit of tummy aches by the end of the night, but they said it was all worth it. Hope everyone had a great St. Patrick's Day!

St Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is only a few days away, and I am not one for decorating my house before the day, but I do make the day special and "Green" for the kids the day of. Anything that can turn green will be green on St. Patrick's Day. So here are a few ideas I have found on Pinterest that I will be doing (or at least doing some of them).

Arrrgh Pirate Party

My sweet little boy turned four...{tear} this past weekend. It's very bittersweet for me, as I am so happy to see him grow up into a big boy, but I feel that FOUR is not a baby anymore (even though he will ALWAYS be my little baby). But he is the darn cutest little 4 year old I have seen (I know I am a bit biased, he is my son). We celebrated the little man Pirate style.....arrrgh, shiver me timbers it was a great little family birthday party and he had a blast with all his little Pirate cousins. Here are some pictures from the party.

Table set for a Pirate - Sail the Sea Jello (thank you Mom), Cannon Ball cupcakes (thank you Mother in love) and Crocodile Blood (the kids got a kick out of this)

Golden Nuggets, "Fish & Chips", Pirate's Booty Popcorn

Goodie Bags- "You Best Be Lookin' Like a Pirate", I made a treasure map out of brown paper bags and paint, bandanas (bought a yard of fabric for each color and cut into bandanas), Eye patches from Target

Banners made from brown paper bags, old book pages cut into circles, painted letters and sponge painted the edges for a burnt look ( I used an eraser from a pencil dipped in paint to make the dots), Table cloth from Target

Happy 4th Birthday my little Pirate

This is how the day ended....from Pirates to Super Hero's!!! Oh how fun to be a child!
Until next time...
